Summary of CO-EXIST-SEA Activities

1. What is CO-EXIST-SEA?

CO-EXIST-SEA“ (Co-operative Program for the Exchange of Experiences, Expertise, Information in S&T in South East Asian Countries) is a framework of organizations engaged in scientific and technological information activities under the ministries of Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

It started in 1999 as a JST initiative to promote the cooperation of scientific and technological information activities in Asia and the Pacific region.

2.  Activities: CO-EXIST-SEA Workshops and Seminars

Under this framework, JST holds an annual workshop which is co-hosted by each country and organizes an annual seminar in Tokyo, inviting two persons from each country. The past activities are shown below.

3. Achievements of CO-EXIST-SEA

The countries exchange opinion on the latest advances in S&T information services and can also build a network among organizations in order to contribute to the progress in S&T. A comprehensive list of S&T contents available through the web free-of-charge in each country is on preparation. A tentative list can be found from the shortcut in the menu.
